Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End-Movie Night -
This Friday, May 25th!!!
We will be going to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End at NOVA 10 Theaters in Urbandale on Friday, May 25th (opening night!). The cost of the ticket is $6.00. We will meet at Alan and Stephanie's house (4842 63rd Street in Urbandale) at 6:30pm for pizza and the usual (XBox, TV, etc.) and then will be going to the movie later that evening (I will not know the time until the Thursday before this). I will be buying tickets in advance just in case of a sell out so if you are planning on coming, I will need your money for your ticket by Wednesday, May 23rd. At the theater you can purchase a small drink and a small popcorn for $1.25 more.

Youth Group - Every Wednesday Night
Youth group will meet at Alan and Stephanie's house - 4842 63rd Street in Urbandale - for a time of learning and fun with friends. If you need a ride, please contact Stephanie at 778-1084 or Alan at 556-4403.

Bash on the Farm - Friday and Saturday, June 15th-16th
This event will depend on what we get for a favorable response. This is a 2 day concert on a farm in Garner with 50+ bands playing. There will be food available for purchase and inflatable games/activities for a small charge ($10-$15) and the admission to the concert part is free. Since it is 2 hours away, we would probably camp overnight somewhere nearby - or we might just go for Saturday. The total cost for this event would probably be about $50 with food, camping, etc. Please let me know if you have any interest in attending this and you can check it out at www.bashonthefarm.com for more information.

Spirit Midwest Music Festival - Saturday, July 21st
This is a free concert event at the Ankeny Bandshell on Saturday, July 21st - 2:00pm to 5:00pm for Pop/Rock and 5:00pm to 10:00pm for Rock/Alternative. You can check out this event at www.spiritmidwest.com for the bands and for more information.

Swimming at West Des Moines Aquatics Center - Sunday, August 5th
We will be going to the Holiday Park Aquatic Center in West Des Moines right after church on Sunday, August 5th. We will go out for lunch and then to the Aquatic Center. The cost for the Aquatic Center is $7.00 per person and you will need about $5 for lunch. Be watching for more info on this event.

Paintball at Action Jacks - Saturday, August 25th
Alan will be taking anyone who wants to go to Action Jacks for a paintball game on Saturday, August 25th. Times will be announced at a later date. The cost will be about $30 per person and Alan will need to know in advance who is going and also have your money to make the reservation. Please see Alan with any questions.

Eclipse Registration

Don't forget that I need you registration forms by Wednesday night the 14th if you want to attend this competitive event this year. I would encourage everyone to participate this year and join the group in this event that always seems to turn out to be a good time.

Need Your Prayers

We all know how much Alan means to us and how we value his presence in our group. Alan's business suffered through a fire this last weekend and we all want to surround him with our love and prayers. Keep him in your thoughts this week and be here on Wednesday to let hime know that we are there for him.

Join us every Wendesday night for fun, learning and time with friends! We meet at Renee Hainline's house - 3401 150th Street in Urbandale - from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. If you need a ride contact Stephanie at 778-1084 or Renee at 987-6900.

NYC Slave Auction
The Slave Auction to help support our teens going to NYC is still on. Kasey, Justin, Jonathan, Michael, Shelby and Matt will be out in the foyer before and after church with their bidding sheets. Find a job for them to do and bid on them to be your slave! See any of the above teen or Stephanie for more information.

Halloween All-Nighter
Guys, Girls - Jr High, Senior High and College Ages Welcome
We will have a Halloween All-Nighter from Friday, October 27th beginning at 7:00pm to Saturday, October 28th ending at 8:00am at Alan and Stephanie's house - 4842 63rd Street in Urbandale. We will be going to Ames for their Haunted Forest Walk at about 9:30pm. You can check it out on the web at www.ameshauntedforest.com. The cost for the Haunted Forest is $9.00 each. We will have pizza, pop and snacks. There will also be scary movies, XBox and games all night! Bring a friend and plan on having an awesome time! Nintendo Fusion Tour
Guys, Girls - Jr High, Senior High and College Ages Welcome
We will be going to the Val-Air Ballroom for the Nintendo Fusion Tour Concert on Thursday, November 9th! There will be great bands such as: Hawthorne Heights, Relient K, Plain White T's, Emery and The Sleeping. The doors open at 6:00pm and the show starts at 7:00pm. Tickets are on sale now and I will purchase them as you give me your money in case the concert sells out. The cost is $25 per person. Paintball at Action Jacks

Don't forget to join us this Sunday for the Paintball event at Action Jacks. Call ASAP if you have not already given him your money and release form.

Skate West

Don't forget to join us this Wednesday night at 7:00 at Skate west. Make sure to see Renee at the door for your ticket to get in.

4th of July Celebration

Don't miss this one. It is going to be a great time as we all meet at Steph and Alan's house at 5:00pm on Saturday, July 1st and head out to Amber Golay's house for food, a bon fire, a hay rack ride, volleyball and other outdoor activities and your normal 4th of July lighting up of the sky after dark. The van will return to Alan and Steph's house around 10:30pm - 11:00pm.

Their Back

Our teens have been to camp. Justin, Kasey, Mike and Shelby will all be returning to group this week and will be anxious to tell us all about their experience at camp this year. Make sure that you join us as we welcome them back.

Eclipse

Registrations Due to Renee by Sunday, February 20th.

Here is your chance to compete no matter what your talent or your sport. The teens will be going to Council Bluffs on March 11th and 12th to participate in Eclipse. You may enter in any of the following events: Vocal Solo, Instrumental Solo, Vocal Group, Instrumental Group, Drama, Puppets, Speech, Art, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Bowling, Ping Pong, Flag Football, Skateboarding, Web Design and Video Editing. Winners of these competitions will head to Kansas City to compete in the events at a Regional level.

See...there is something for everyone! You don't want to miss this great time together. See Renee if you want to sign up.

Rock Climing for CRAVE463

We will be meeting for our time together on Wednesday, July 28th at 6:00pm at SportsPlex West. We will be scaling the wall together and experiencing a part of what Craig (The subject of our weekly lessons) experienced. This trip does require waivers. Please return them as soon as possible. For directions, see form sent home. Parent are welcome to attend if they so desire. This in an excellent activity to invite a friend to. Please just make sure that they have a signed waiver as well.

Beyond Imagination - Youth Camp

Don't miss Iowa District Youth Camp. It will be on June 14 - June 19. They are planning a lot of great activities for all of you. You won't want to miss this great time with the youth from all over our state. Ask Renee for registration forms.

Eclipse

Terrific year at Eclipse 2004!

Those participating in the district sports and talent event on the weekend of March 12th did a terrific job!

Sara Miller - joined us to learn about our process.
Jenny Kreasko - participated in Art.
Elizabeth Newburn - participated in Ping Pong and Bowling
Justin Christians - participated in Bowling and Basketball. His Basketball team won the championship and he won at bowling. He will represent Iowa at the Regional event in Bowling.
Julie Childers - participated in Ping Pong and Basketball. Winning in both of these and making the Basketball All Star team, Julie will represent the Iowa District in both of these events at the Regional event.
Bethany Glendenning - participated in and won the Senior Vocal Solo event and will be singing at the Regional event.

The regional event will be held in Olathe, Kansas on April 15th - 17th. Good Luck to all!

Erin Hemphill joined Elizabeth in our group on Wednesday night. We were glad you could join us Erin!

Eclipse

All papers and permission slips should be turned in to me at this time for participation in Eclipse in Council Bluffs on March 12th. They will be turned in to the District Coordinator on Saturday 1/31. If I do not have yours yet, make sure that I get it so that you do not miss out on this great time that we share with the teens of the Iowa District.

Nice to meet you Sara Miller

Sara Miller is the daughter of our new D.S. and it was our distict pleasure to have her join us on Wednesday night. We enjoyed getting to know her and we are excited about her family and the leadership that they will be bringing to our district.

Good luck Sara as you settle into your new home and school here in Iowa. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!

Fools For Christ Meet at First Church

Since it is close...it would be great if alot of you could show up to support our quiz team as they continue to compete in quizzing. It would mean a lot to Bethany, Julie, Liz, Jonathan and Justin if you were able to come and see their efforts! First Church is located on Douglas and the meet begins at 9:30 on Saturday, January 10th.

During CRAVE463 Satisfaction on Wednesday we learned about the hard time that the Israelites had knowing what God expected of them during a violent time. God gave them Judges to help them know what is right and wrong. In the world that we live in today, a lot of people live by what is "right in their own eyes". Remember to see with the eyes that Jesus gives you and be what he wants you to be. If you need an accountability partner get one and everyone can be a partner for someone looking for that ear to hear or that voice of encouragement. Be it!!!
